If you want to NN商学院马上就会向你招手, you may need a 770 GMAT with gold-child background or career track, such as a Tsinghua or Peking undergraduate major, a fortune 500 company with years of work experience outside of China, blah..blah...blah... If you want to try your best to get in, a 740 GMAT may be enough. Yet, for many elderly applicants, it's very very very hard to achieve such an impressive score. Also, it may take two years or more to score a 740+ GMAT. To my knowledge, you have to prepare for the worst-case scenario. If you're an American, an average GMAT score may be enough to get in a top-notch MBA program. At the same time, to write a set of get-in essays is far from easy, especially for an applicant who has been far away from school for more than a decade. BTW, if you want to apply to finance trek, where’s CFA certificate? Actually, MBA is a game of the young. And from the downhill trend of average age at HBS et al year over year, you can apparently sense it. Sure, if you want to only attend an MBA program, no matter what its reputation is, there're a lot of wild-chicken schools there soliciting you from time to time. I don’t want to upset you, just want to remind you of the hardship of pursuing an MBA for the elderly. Last year, HBS admitted only one male Chinese directly from Mainland China. His background can be called as a gold-child type: Tsinghua SEM undergraduate and master, ever working in Germany for three years, the first time GMAT 770 and the second time GMAT 750, blah...blah...blah... Sure, if you were to donate $5 million to HBS, then you could buy yourself a placement. Even so, your family needs to be very famous in your country like President or on the par. Under such circumstance, I guess a 500 GMAT is enough for attending HBS. Unfortunately, the probability in 500 GMAT range is nearly zero. |
