对于E选项，OG解释有一句没看懂: it is also grammatically incomplete because and converting does not clearly refer to anything
这句怎么理解？

LZ,and converting 是并列于前面的acquiring carbon的，如果选了E选项，and converting it就变的没头没尾，没有修饰对象了。
