Mathematics do means mathematics, not progrmaming (wtf!? you even mixed up math and programming!?)
programming is nice to have in economics, but generally not a very stricy requirement.
e.g. calculus, linear algebra is a must. differential equation, stochastic processs, dynamic optimization, real analysis, and some stat like time series and inference are really nice to have.
for master in economics, it is basically a academic degree, i.e. your workoing experience, especialy in auditing, won't help much (i guess is zero, if not negative)
hku have the weakest econmomics program and faculty among three and thus dont require that much academically, but as far as i know it is one the most competitive in admission since it bear the name HKU.
given you background, i will suggest you to save your application fee to HKU and HKUST, CUHK is very unlikely but worth a trial (indeed if i were you i will try all........application fee is not really money.....)
for finance, things maybe a bit better as it is more career focus, but as being non-985/211, prepare some safety school. |
