Colleges and universities should require all faculty to spend time working outside the academic world in professions relevant to the courses they teach.
Write a response in which you discuss your views on the policy and explain your reasoning for the position you take. In developing and supporting your position, you should consider the possible consequences of implementing the policy and explain how these consequences shape your position.

College has been a place for people to learn specified knowledge that prepares them for the requirement from the society and to achieve personal perfection in aspects of morality, creativity and interpersonal connection. Some people insists that faculty at higher educational institutions should be required to attend work that are irrelevant to the academic world. Although seemingly plausible, I find this statement relatively problematic due to the overestimation of the amount of time and energy that faculty can contributed to those works and the nature of education.

Admittedly, this requirement does bring some merits to students as well as faculty themselves. Through interaction with other people in the new work settings, new thoughts and understanding could show up in a mere blink that facilitate faculty in conducting their daily duties as lecturers, librarians or lab assistants. When faculty actually put themselves in the shoes of students as a recipient of a lecture in the requirement under the new job description, ways to improve his own teaching methods, cautions about choosing the appropriate books on reading lists and the exact time to make transition for students to the next level of study could all become clear. On the other hand, for students, they are lucky to share those understanding with those faculties and undergo benefits brought by them. For example, they could experience great improvement in the understandability of their handouts and emphasis in the interdependence of practice and theoretical knowledge.

However, faculty could find they are forced to work overloaded or overtime, which leaves them no time to consider job that are closely connected to their actual duties like research thesis and lecture syllabus. For some people, the daily routine work at university has already been a burden without any extra works that are not related to their professions. Once a significant amount of time is taken by these work, faculty's attention are detracted from their main job as mentors or lecturers. No longer will they have the full energy to deliver understandable lectures and offer academic help on time to students who are depressed by their midterm scores, which can backfire especially for that the nature of education is to impart students with knowledge and to provide them with guidance and courage when needed.

Furthermore, students might loss the precious opportunity to communicate with their tutors and lecturers. Usually, it takes three or four meetings with the mentor for one student to decide the most suitable thesis for his final year project. During the process, the student always takes the initiative to arrange the topic for each meeting that are kept in pace with his researching process. However, under the proposed situation, probably, not even two sessions of meeting could be guaranteed by the mentor, who is also acting out of unwillingness. In extreme cases, what ends up for the students is that he fails in his project and is forced to redo his final year. Accordingly, severe consequences are generated by this statement on students who are intended to benefit from higher education.

In conclusion, even though the proposal is able to exert positive effects on the educational system and students' practical abilities, it also suffers from several restrictions, rendering it inappropriate to be adopted under the current educational system.

ISSUE The arts (painting, music, literature, etc.) reveal the otherwise hidden ideas and impulses of a society
扯扯淡 求考试好运TTTTTTTTTTTTT
三十分钟诌完 有五百一十多个字 绿色是后来加入的部分 写了半天才发现 所有的impulse 都拼错了。。。。

Art is what people considered to be tangible or intangible beauty that fulfill our mental world and instill power to the general public. Some insists that only art can uncover the otherwise hidden ideas in the society, and therefore brings to it impulses. Although seemingly plausible at first sight, I cannot be convinced by this statement due to its ignorance of the power of the other factors imbedded in the society and an over emphasize of the influence of art.

Admittedly, art is an inseparable part of the integrity of the society. Hardly can one imagine what the world will be like if there is no arresting color of those paintings, no soft sound flows from pianos and no meaningful words shines in intelligent books. To some extent, arts facilitate people in discovering the unknown and infuse the perfection of the society. It is not uncommon for us to read on the newspapers that by studying the contribution from our ancestors, such as those documented in books and illustrations, scientist ravel myth related to the general wellbeing of human. Moreover, in wartime, arts function as an even more crucial role in encouraging people in pain to persist until light comes. It might be proper to mention Van Gough's painting the Starry Night here. It seems to inform people that never should we shed tears for the missing sunset, or we could miss all those shining stars upon the beautiful night sky.

However, if we take the issue seriously limited to art as the only accelerator of the society, the conclusion is largely biased. Other factors like advancement in science, improvement in general education, and completion of the national data base system, could all contribute to the discovery of hidden ideas. When it comes to natural disasters, art seems to be useless. What people requires most at that life and death moment is food and medical equipment that can keep their life thrives. Only when people make through those moments can they talk about art, which helps them go back to normal life as students, parents, and officers faster and more confidently. In addition, impulse of a society in relation to science could hardly be connected to art. Generally, huge breakthroughs in scientific world usually come form scientists relentless devotion and creative minds.

Furthermore, the impulse of a society largely resides in each individual. Accordingly, in order to potentiate that power, more attention should be put into each person rather than a general emphasize of the importance of art; after all, those recognizable arts are the achievements of a small proportion. Educating of the public about the method to appreciate art and further to produce art by themselves could truly substantiate arts' function as impulses.

In conclusion, even though the uncovered ideas and impulses for a society can be attributed to art under some situation, it is ill founded due to its inherited shortages. On the other hand, individuals as the most significant composition of each society should be the focus when we are trying to engender more impulses and tackle the problem of revealing more desirable new ideas.
