OA是E，这道题我纠结在D和E，看网上的解释有明白说that是单数因此不能指代speeds所以应该选择E，但是不明白E里面的那个are是怎么冒出来的，我理解的这个题目中的比较应该是以后的速度和现在的速度比较，但是为什么要有are？？？than的前面都不是一个句子。。。
求牛牛解答，快纠结成灰了。。

这里是speeds的比较
at speeds much higher than （speeds）are currently possible. are就是这么来的
D有个很严重的问题就是at what，at后面应该是直接接什么东西，比如说speed，temperature什么的，而不是直接接比较。

恩，我明白这里是省略了speeds, 但是不是很明白为什么要补出are,因为前面的speeds后面没有接are,后面这个are出来不是破坏平行了么？

不是很明白at what, at much higher speeds也是接的名词啊，是不是可以这样理解，比较的是将来的和现在的speed哪个更high，而不是现在的和将来的那一个更much higher speed,所以speed 放前面，higher 放后面？

D.        at much higher speeds than that

之所以不能用be是因为前面的两个动词enable,和receive都是实意动词，不能用be来平行。
如果非要用be只能这么写句子
the speed that the nation's largest local telcom company can offer will be much higher than (is) currently (is).
the nation's largest local telcom company offer the bandwidth largely exceed what they did last year.

其实这道题在og里面有影子
Heating-oilprices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners are payingabout$5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were lastyear.

—若第一部分为be+实意动词
—第二部分的Be动词时态可以不同，但是被省略动词时态必须相同。

—若助动词所在SVO省略不会影响含义，则也可省略

—若第一部分为其他助动词+实意动词

哈哈哈，我看得是alan叔总结的正确句子，我看alan叔总结的句子里面如果than后面有省略的话，省略部分的动词一定在前面出现过, 那豆豆是觉得应该选D么？我一开始也是这样认为，因为E中的are出来而前面根本没有are（前面的动词是would enable, receive）, are找不到一个动词和它平行，但是问题在D中的that应该改写成those, 因为that是单数没有办法指代speeds.
manhattan70页的例子：
Wrong: Her company is outperforming those of her competitors.
Right: Her company is outperforming the companies of her competitors.

Even if D were to replace that with those, E would still be better. The intended meaning is that the speeds would be much higher than are currently possible. In E, the verb are makes the comparison clear.

先记着吧，做这道题就再次领会了正确的答案是比出来的不是完美的道理。。。
