谢谢，很需要这样的思考，工资的问题还好，1M虽然不到，但是涨幅喜人。我不是一定要呆在美国，真心是想做global fund。
风险精神，我觉得还好，做fund最好的就是可以审视人性，我属于中庸风格，风险和收益需要balance。
信心这种事，其实就是个概率，有信心就是给的概率高，所有可能结果的分布就是概率密度，我只是想知道expectation和standand deviation。
我有点拿不准风险与收益程度。我很同意你说的，其实就是看自己对梦想的强烈程度，会认真边做边思考的，真心感谢！

跟我说不读的同胞们，我总结下来就是现在的职位不错了，没必要花这么多钱再来一个，说不准还不如现在呢。这也是我考虑的问题，正在权衡
毕竟梦想要付出代价，就是看收获是否高于代价

可以吧 我觉得你去了美国MBA后，弄个好点的学校，估计你读完了很多观念也会变。不一定死盯着一个行业吧= =

Hello there my friend,
Well you have a lot of very good stuff in your profile. You have good grades for your Masters, a very good GMAT, some international experience, and you are in finance. so these are lots of good things already. You didn't write what school you graduated from (or what Masters). And also what your undergraduate grades were. I understand that they are weaknesses. Your age, at 31 might make things a bit harder especially at M7 schools, but it's also not too old for an MBA.

I would need more detail about your work to give you a very precise evaluation, but I think I see some very good stuff and some weaknesses, but only minor ones. I think that M7 schools might be a bit challenging, but that there are plenty of great schools in the Top20 that might fit your needs. I would especially look into NYU, Johnson, Tepper, and UNC (although you can also apply to a good M7 school which is good in finance like Columbia), as they have all excellent programs in finance, and great connections with the finance industry.

i guess most people here are not from buy side and know nothing about it. I would strongly recommend LZ to get a MBA but only look at top buy side school like wharton/columbia/chicago.

As a buy side analyst at a mega hf, I know how important a good school for elite hf/am firms. It also give you credit when you want to raise fund in future (yes, fund raising is not only about track record).

People sometimes say hedge funds don't prefer MBA. But they don't mention that it is only true if you get an ivy equivalent undergrad, then another m7 MBA won't help a lot. Top AM like fido or pimco are heavy recruiters at top bschool.

LZ's background plus MBA from any of 3 school I mentioned can well prepare him for a standard post-MBA investment role with 200k-300k first year package, which is well above LZ's current pay. It also leads a much broader career.

我觉得你关注的点不太对头。以你工作经验比较牛的情况来看，包装的得好很多学校都申请得到。况且gmat够用，t不用考。关注点应该是，你英语交流能力如何，性格如何，真的来了美国混得好的人都是英语非常好的，交往能力很强的，各种考试分只是敲门砖。你想做什么你选那些有这些资源的学校和地区。然后剩下的很多都得靠你自己去network了。所以读完你能怎样，其实在你读之前低头看你自己的情况，就能猜出大致一二。MBA给你一个换地点，开拓network的机会，但把握的怎么样，都因人而异。
