不过我下载的笔记上面说，这里的them指代不清，可是根据就近指代很明显这里的them 指代的的是population

正确答案是（E) comparable to that of Great Britain but a populaion of only four million people,many of whom
提问：为什么这里前面没有be动词可以直接跟形容词comparable?这不科学！！

两者都是正确的

B的is 和 has 也不平行啊  这可是在这里比较size呢  换动词表达的意思 就不一样了 哦
在正式语体里面不应该用and many，而应该用“, many of whom”，否则割裂了many与前句的关系。
E 版主解释了 comparable的用法啦
