action noun 的单数复数形式

请问类似于construction, pollution, redemption, arrival，reversal，development, punishment, change, rise这些action noun是单数还是负数？

比如这个句子：
CONSTRUCTON of the Roman Colosseum, which was officially known as the Flavian Amphitheater, began in A.D.69, during the reign of Vespasian, AND WAS completed the Colosseum with a one-hundred-day cycle of religious pageants, gladitorial games, and spectacles。

句子里面Construction.......，and WAS........spectacles.

在这个句子里面是单数，那有没有复数的情况？还是永远是单数？
