Nobody knows exactly how many languages there are in the world, partly because of the difficulty of distinguishing between a language and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically have found about five thousand.

     A) and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically have found
    B) and the sub-languages or dialects within them, with those who have tried counting typically finding
    C) and the sub-languages or dialects within it, but those who have tried counting it typically find
    D) or the sub-languages or dialects within them, but those who tried to count them typically found
    E) or the sub-languages or dialects within them, with those who have tried to count typically finding

Finally, on the GMAT, do not use this or these in place of nouns. Also, do not use that or those in place of nouns (unless you modify that or those). Use it, they, or them instead.

between....and    so we rule out D&E.
within ( the language mention above) so we rule out B

I believe tried to count is better than tried counting    and have found is better than find.

those is not the key point to solve the problem here

我心里的理想答案是“and the sublanguages or dialects within it, but those who have tried to count typically find"
C选项”and the sublanguages or dialects within it, but those who have tried counting it typically find“,一方面是因为 try doing的用法;另一方面,是不是可以理解为 counting it 中的 it 指代 the language,语义不符合整个句子要表达的意思呢?

本题中 those 虽然没有裸奔,有 who have tried to coun typically 修饰,但是those 的先行词是 哪个呢?
