嗯。只是top programs 申请还是非常看重publications，而且ML应该比商科容易发不少。。

其实就是应用统计，随机过程还有一些简单的计算机算法和优化。相对比较容易上手，这块也是计算机领域非常活跃的分支，相关的杂志以及conference特别多。

昨天发邮件给CMU, 他家business technology专业（也即原来的MIS专业）已经给出2个offer了。面试早就面完了。

Kaifu Zhang from CKGSB will move to CMU, so CMU does have strong senior and junior analytical modelers. People said Kaifu Zhang is one of the strongest analytical candidate in recent years' market if not the strongest.

I guess all these top programs (both finance and marketing, even accounting) care a lot about the economics background. With your chemistry background, it's hard to impress them. Guess both WashU and Kellogg your reference writers should have close connections, otherwise you won't have any chance. So many top econ applicants nowadays

是的，尽管我也take了博士的两学期微观，还有IO, 以及博士的计量，但总共也就五门经济的课，他们标准的硕士估计要上十几门课的。所以在课程背景上吃了大亏，不过去了再好好做吧，呵呵
