大牛推荐人会不会对申请哈佛商学院有帮助？

我说的大牛是类似于美国前助理国务卿，前国防部长，退役后在哈佛某学院任dean，现在届满为distingulished professor。我大概可以找到这样的人给我写封推荐信，但是因为没有交集，所以不会是最了解我的人，而且这样的话我要等到第三轮再申请。如果是现在递交就可以赶第二轮，但是就要用我原来单位并不知名的领导和客户来做推荐了。

我的其他方面表现都很平平，比如托福 ＧＭＡＴ之类，甚至不达哈佛要的标准线，但我想essay应该是会有亮点的地方。

Hello there,
A good letter of recommendation needs to be written by someone who KNOWS you personally, and who has SEEN your work. Without that it won't be worth all that much. If you know someone like a Dean of a Harvard College, they can alwasy write a quick letter to the Adcom saying how great you are but for the regular letters of recommendation, it is probably better if you get someone who actually knows you.
