这个从前考过的。可以用APPROXIMATELY在语法大全里面查一下。肯定有同样的题目。

我查了语法大全，觉得确实该选B，把approximate改为approximately。

例如：

28. The General Sherman tree, a giant sequoia in California, has grown to be the world’s largest plant at approximate 272 feet tall.

答案：D

测试点：词性。

分析：approximate是形容词或动词，而修饰数词272应用副词。应为approximately。

又如：28. Worldwide there are approximately 270 species of carnivorous birds that make up the order Falconiformes, the scientifically name for hawks.

再如：

37. The Louisiana Purchase of 1803 increased the territory of the United States by approximate 846,000 square miles, practically doubling the area of the United States.

答案：B. approximate: approximately

分析：approximately 副词修饰句子

参考译文：1803年的Louisiana购买使得美国的疆土扩大了846,000平方英里， 基本上是翻倍。

我查了一下牛津字典，对statistics是这样解释的：

1、统计数字（用复数动词），例

Statistics suggest that the population of this country will be doubled in ten year's time.

2、统计学（用单数动词），例

The science of statistics

这个句子是倒装，谓语是are，主语要求是复数，that改成those

这个我觉得D不对。 我觉得B没问题。

这个是插入语，省略be动词，正常的可以理解是design is popular。。。

答案选A，这是个什么结构啊？其它选项为什么不对呢？

A，名词结构，that普通代词，同比较级里that of的惯用法。

B，语法错误 C，分词带宾语不要加定冠词 D，割开了动宾结构，而understanding不能直接带宾语从句。

19. Art Deed, a style of design popular in the 1920's and 1930's, was used primarily in furniture, jewel, textiles, and interior decoration.

答案选C，可我觉得C是正确的呀。我选的是B，把design popular 改为 popular design.

C, jewel 单数名词。此处并列结构，要求行业并列，应该用集合词jewellery

B,正确，popular in the 1920's.. 形容词短语作后置定语，按你的改法重新读一下：a style of popular design in the 1920's 中式英语。

28. Paleoanthropologists examine fossil remains of extinct primates, while physical anthropologists concern with ethology study the behavior of primates in their natural settings.

答案选B，我选的是A，把remains改为remaining

A, fossil remails固定用法 指古生物的化石残骸，托福中应该很常见。

B, concern with 动词， 后面还有动词study. 必须改掉其中一个，concerned with 作后置定语修饰anthropologist。 不改study的原因是它没划线。

这题保留意见，需要查一下。但托福里approximate通常是要改副词的。

答案选B，我选的是D，把common being改为common。是不是应该把that 改为those。

D 独立主格，正确。指在silicon dioxide的7种不同structures中，最常见的是quartz

B 这个考点好象托福里不多见，代词的用法，that代单数，前面谓语系动词是are, 后面应该用those, which has这里是个迷惑点，但which指代的是silicon dioxide 所以has与前面that没有关系。
