hi，enky 好久不见啦。
我觉得没有必要去深究这个地方语法对不对。
之前看了一个hope for 与hope that 的区别，感觉这里可以移用过来。

>> the fact of +名词 那么想要强调的只是这个名词。
意思就是关于XX~~的事实。
for example ：
He wanted, perhaps, to write about Aids as a fact of life rather than a fact of death.

>>> 当用 the fact that时候，想要强调的是这句话，这个事实到底是怎么样的一个事实。
for example：
But, this ignores the fact that you have agency in the situation: you can decide whether to stay or not.

>>>>>>所以这里的想表达的事实是一个表述的事情，而不是一个名词的话。
fact that 肯定比fact of + ing 更好。
