答案是D,  我觉得E 也没什么错啊.

虽然D 可以理解成that,  that修饰compounds

但是E逻辑上, 结构上都没错.   most of benefits come from..., and they inhibit..... 两个基本点并列分句. 而且compound直接由过去分词修饰更为简洁.  

另外, ETS现在经常出些没有原文意思可依据的题, 所以我认为不能单从D更接近原句上来否定E.

请指教.

E的问题还是they指代不清, 根据句子结构they 只能指代health benifits.

绝对不能省,都是修饰compounds的

如果that是修饰前面compounds的话，那怎么可以用单数呢

可能是把compounds看成一个整体指代了

紧接着修饰compounds后面的代词就用了that

E: "they" refers vaguely

首先，主语系benefits，所以谓语动词用复数，排除AB。

然后C中的and inhibit不知是跟come from平行还系跟found平行，有歧义，排除。

E中的they是不对的，使得逗号后面成分形成一个独立句子，明显不对，排除。

只有D中that are跟that inhibit是平行的，最好。
