1.      DO YOUR HOMEWORK

With having towrite several distinct essays, it may seem easier to write one rather genericessay that would serve you well for all schools. While this may be somethingthat has crossed your mind or sounds enticing, it really can be a detrimentalthought. School’s like to see that you did your research and homework on their specific institution andprogram. Don’t cut corners to save yourself time because it may end upback-firing. Show the Admissions Committee that you did your homework and canreference several unique program or school identifiers.

写文书的时候要注意要针对每个学校的特点。如果你的一篇文章可以投给不同的学校， 那么这篇文章不是很好的一篇Essay.

2.      ANSWER THE POSED QUESTION

When you’re putting together your essay and application, you want to be very careful and follow directionsand prompts. This is a great way for the AdmissionsCommittee to identify applicants who pay attention to detail and have carefullyfollowed instructions. If it were down to one spot in a class, and twoapplicants, one where the student followed instructions and answered the essayquestions posed, and one who skipped a step or forgot something. The spot wouldclearly go to the person who meticulously followed the rules and questionsoutlined to them in their application preparation and thus Admissions Committeepresentation.  

Additionally, the essay portionis one of the few places were your voice, as an applicant can come through, sospend time being sure you’re making the most of the essays so they work to yourbenefit, and not against you in the application evaluation and review process.

MBA 的essay的问答非常清晰， 你的文章也应该有条有理的表达你的想法。 如果让面试官在你的文章里面找你的想法， 那么你的竞争力会少了很多。

3.      BE SUCCINCT

Since you have a finite lengthand space to answer an essay question, be sure you include only importantfacts, and don’t either get too side-tracked or spend too much time setting upa story/anecdote. You don't want your reader to get bored or distracted!

Think about whatyour ultimate point that you’re trying to get across, personalitycharacteristic, leadership, success or failure, why you want to attend thatprogram/school, etc. and how you’re going to do that. This will help you layout a path for succinctly expressing yourself and to not lose the attention ofthe reader.  
Ask yourself before you sit down, but after readingthe prompt, what do you want to convey in this essay and what example(s) willyou use.

由于每篇essay都会有字数限制，所以要注意不能重复啰嗦， 举例子恰当。
