A\D teachers' performance should be evaluated by students rather than by other teachers

Educational improvement as the heatedly discussed issue has beencontroversial since it was raised up. Because of its crucial position in themodern social development, the schools are concerned with the quality of theeducation under scrutiny and one of most useful ways applied by schools is toevaluate performance of teacher. Evaluated by students or other teachers? Icannot agree more on the point that this task should be finished by students.

Firstly, students, not other teachers, are alwayscontacting with their teacher. In terms of teaching methods, class contents andpersonality character, it is student who is most familiar with teachers. Therefore, students will present believable and objective evaluation when askedto do the work at the end of a semester. Those who are incapable to teachstudents or whose methodologies are unwelcomed will get a low score, and as aresult of this, they might be fired or looked down. On no count will teachers sluggishunder this situation. They will spare no effort to enrich their pedagogical andimprove themselves, which is closely related to students' satisfactions andfinally grades. Consequently we can notice a virtuous circle.

Furthermore, if the evaluation is operated byother teachers--i.e., their colleagues, there is no denying that the resultsmay be inaccurate. Relationships among teachers are complex sometimes, forexample, a teacher who is a grand old man or popular in crowd but with a poorability in teaching will gain good marks. Conversely, a introvert specialistmay receive an unfair treatment. Rather than focus on their teaching level, allof teachers in this system will tend themselves more sophisticated, so that theoverall educational development is adversely affected.

Admittedly, the condition of student-centeredevaluation leaves some to be desired. For instance, one of my teachers was astrict man, he was likely to get mad and always criticizing us. Even though thefinal subject mean of our class was the best, we gave him a worst evaluation aswe felt unhappy in progress of study. However this is not an usual problem, most teachers' evaluation can be matched with their ability.

To sum up, although that teachers' performance evaluatedby students may causes some drawbacks, it is still a perfect way to improve oureducational standard. We students can also benefit from the work.

Educational improvement as the heatedly discussed issue has been controversial since it was raised up. Because of its crucial position in the modern social development, the schools are concerned with the quality of the education under scrutiny and one of (the) most useful ways applied by schools is to evaluate performance of teacher. Evaluated by students or other teachers? I cannot agree more on the point that this task should be finished by students.

Firstly, students, not other teachers, are always contacting with their teacher(not other teachers放到下句强调句中效果更好). In terms of teaching methods, class contents and personality character, it is student who is most (more or the most) familiar with teachers. Therefore, students will present believable and objective evaluation when asked to do the work at the end of a semester. Those who are incapable to teach students or whose methodologies(这个词用大了,方法论的意思,method就好) are unwelcomed will get a low score, and(and最好不用,有点口语化) as a result of this, they might be fired or looked down. On no count will teachers sluggish under this situation. They will spare no effort to enrich their pedagogical(卧槽,那些年熟悉的GRE词汇) and improve themselves, which is closely related to students' satisfactions andfinally grades. Consequently we can notice( notice我觉得多用于发现了意外的东西,比如卷福notice that he is shaking,这里用form就可) a virtuous circle.

Furthermore, if the evaluation is operated by other teachers--i.e.(最好考试不用缩写), their colleagues, there is no denying that the results may be inaccurate(我觉得这段跟上段不是一个furthermore的关系,可以用on the other hand 开头). Relationships among teachers are complex sometimes, (句号) for example, a teacher who is a grand old man or popular in crowd but with a poor ability in teaching will gain good marks. Conversely, a introvert specialist(专家?)  may receive an unfair treatment. Rather than focus on their teaching level, all of teachers in this system will tend themselves more sophisticated, so that the overall educational development is adversely affected.(逻辑流畅)
Admittedly, the condition of student-centered evaluation leaves some to be desired. (不过主题句和例子间加一个解释句更好:有些学生对待老师以自身利益出发)For instance, one of my teachers was a strict man, he was likely to get mad and always criticizing us. Even though the final subject mean of our class was the best, we gave him a worst evaluation as we felt unhappy in progress of study(老外貌似不这么说,in study就好). However this is not an usual problem, most teachers' evaluation can be matched with their ability.(例子举的很好,但有一个问题,老师严厉就给评低分?老师严厉只是个别现象?老师本来就应该strict,所以你可以在一开始说my teacher was a extremely strict man)

To sum up, although that teachers' performance evaluated by students may causes some drawbacks, it is still a perfect way to improve our educational standard. (加个Moreover更好,体现逻辑) We students can also benefit from the work as well.

A/D the rapid growth in today's world is a mostly positive development for our society

Like a rocket, our world today is developing with an unprecedentedspeed. Certain aspects such as technology, environment, and culture are oftenbeen talked about. However, as one of ancient philosopher saying" morehaste and less speed", shouldn't we come to a halt to reflect ourselvesand plan for ourselves?

Admittedly, we live in a world where technology isaccumulated exponentially and at the same time become more and more advanced. Many products such as smart phone and iPad are wonderful and much technicaltransportation--high speed railways are fast, so convenient are thoseinstruments and infrastructures that they can make our life more modern, efficient and comfortable.

On the other hand, it is universally acknowledgedthat our environment is under severe situation. Global warming and lots ofbreathing diseases are results of increasing discharging carbon-dioxide andsome other harmful gases. Water-pollution is caused by sewage from plenty offactories. Desertification should be blamed for endless destroying forests andwetlands. Nothing is important than to protect our environment because not onlyus but also our generations will live on this beautiful but fragile planet, sothat on no account can we concentrate more on social development than onenvironment protection.

Furthermore, with the rapid development ofsociety, pressure of life is emerging and relationships among people arebecoming distant. People are becoming sophisticated and beginning to pursuitmoney, power and benefit rather than friendship, love and truth like somescenes in some tragic movies about future. It is so sad to go after profitblindly regardless of beautiful emotions among people.

To sum up, we indeed need development of world toimprove our life standards, but not that fast. As I discussed above, we aresupposed to slow steps to examine our environment and ourselves, in whichcondition can we make a great progress in the future.

Do  you  agree  that  telephones  are  playing  a  more  effective  role  than  television  in  people’s life?

In modern society, advanced equipments such as telephones and televisionhave come into and are closely related to our daily lives. Telephones areextremely important to us as a perfect way of distant communication, especiallythe appearance of smart phone make our life more convenient and wonderful. Socomparable important are television as they are still the most popularapproaches that provide news and enjoyment as well as other information fromall over the world. However, the degrees of their importances differ fromperson to person.

For people who are younger or on the job, telephones are playing a more effective role, as these people always need tocommunicate with others. Office worker will discuss details about work withtheir colleague, and students often surf on the internet such as MSN or tweeterusing smart phone when they are not facing computer. On the other hand, theyspare little time on television. Firstly, they are so busy from morning tonight that once they have spare time they will go out to play with friendsrather than watch TV at home. What is more possible is that they hardly haveinterest on TV-program, so that television for them is just for decorate.

Television seems to be dominant among the type ofpeople who are older. As we can see, we live in a world where technology isaccumulated exponentially, as a result of which, old man whose minds cannotcatch up with the development will be unfamiliar to these technical devicessuch as smart phone. However, television has been popular since they wereyoung, therefore they might get used to watching TV. At the same time, onaccount of no-working, they have plenty of time to kill. Consequently, TVprograms especially teleplay and movies which take a long time to watch becometheir favorite activity.

To sum up, television and telephone which aregreat innovations, in my opinion, are all important to people. However, becauseof ages and other different characters of different people, each of them willhas a distinct decline.

Younger  school  children  (ages  five  to  ten)  should  be  required  to  study  art  and  music  in addition to math language, science and history.

Education improvement as the heatedly discussed issue has been controversial since it was raised up. Because of its crucial position in the modern social development ,the public and authorities are concerned with the way of education under scrutiny. As one of the topics, whether young children should be required to study art and music besides math, science and history has been mainly argued by almost all of teachers and parents. As far as I am concerned, those children are supposed to learn art and music.

We live in a world where knowledge and technology are accumulated exponentially and at the same time become stricter for people, in which condition, in order to make himself more competitive, he should be overall educated when he was a child. Knowledge only from books such as math and science are far from enough, other types of skill- i.e., portray, piano or violin are also need to find out more chances in the future. Take myself as an example. When I was in primary school, my parent advised me to learn guitar; after six year's study, I cannot believe I could play this instrument very well even be able to hold a small performance. This specialty made me a successful man today as I can find more opportunities and lucks when I ask for positions which call for versatility persons in college.

Furthermore, as one of the famous philosophers once said: “Math, history and music promote human's development”, we can see music is a form of intelligence of human. When children are applying their logic minds to solve math or physic problems but have no result, a piece of music or a colorful landscape may be a inspiration for them as these kind of artistic minds can refresh their brain like springs. A classic hero crosses my mind as an instance. Sherlock Holmes, a brilliant detective written by ConanDoyle, is so smart that almost all of cases can become pieces of cake. Besides his strong and rigor deduction, he also has a violin. When he falls into deepthinking, he plays his violin and claims that the fair-sounding music can help him think.

Given by the nowadays educational situation, young students have lots of subjects and homework stuff and they are too busy to even have a entertainment. Therefore, parents are less likely to encourage their children to learn art or music. However, instead of only considering about their educational level, schools should pay attention to development of their students and they ought to cut down some of their courses to leave more leisure for children.

To sum up, in aspect of their development in the future, young students should spend more time on the art and music. Only in this way can our society gain more all-rounder rather than people who can only solve a math equation.
