为什么不是b,she met an old friend on the subway?
meet有pick up的意思吗？

答案应该是A。省略了一部分，补全应该是as it is on some coins。C中that后面应该引导从句，some cions只是一个短语，因此不正确。

让我疑惑的是projects；主句中没有谓语动词，因此projects在这里应该做动词，那么似乎应该用被动语态才对，design是被设计嘛。不知道该怎么解释，yongchou兄来看看吧？

projects , as a vi here-- closely meaning  "show", (I just can't explain it in En, you know, as what projectors do."
a design-- you can think of it like "a picture"
as on some coins= just like on sme coins

if they are to be =if someone wants them to be
has to be changed to "when", then it's OK

3) wherea rocks do not. (but this is not what the original question wants , I'm thinking......sorry)

4) equal is an adj, and it's all right to use "adj + adj + adj +..noun"

5) "met" is in the past (they haven't met , have they ?)

大意是：图案稍微突出于背景。
