其他选项也知道怎么错的，只是对这正确答案有些不解。
这里determined前面是省略了一个have吗？如果是省略了的话，为什么从句that里面是过去时（their diet were)
如果没有省略have,那and连接的两个句子时态就不一致了（have examined---and determine

我能想到的就是and要平行，然后后面这句话讲的是应用了新方法后科学家所取得的成果，所以用现在完成时，至于那个过去时，祖先的饮食不就该是过去的事情嘛。。。

觉得应该是省略了have，scientists have examined molars of prehuman ancestors and determined这个并列很明显。至于从句我觉得是因为因为讲的是祖先的事，所以肯定要用过去完成时，总不能因为主句用现在这里也用现在那逻辑完全说不通嘛。
看看有没有大神能解释的更清楚
