Just give my two cents. I applied and was admitted to an acct phd program this year right after completed my master's in mainland china. Comparing with mine, I think your background is very solid. If you want to apply for program starting in fall 2014, you'll submit your application by the end of Jan 2014. My experience is that you'd better submit the online application one~two weeks before the school's deadline.
At this stage, i don't think it's a good idea to take another gmat test, since 740 is very much sufficient (though not outstanding). Your TOEFL score will matter, esp. the speaking section. Also, my suggestion is that to seize every opportunity to nail down some solid Recommendation Letters. You'd better have at least one solid letter from a professor who has a strong affiliation with the north america acct academics.
You may consider to apply for both PhD and research master programs at the same time. When selecting schools, pay extra attention to those that have faculty who graduated from RUC.
Bear in mind that the competition of application will be more and more fierce, at least in my opinion. But I think you'll find some program to fit in. (sorry i couldn't type Chinese in my office) |
