The 21st century has begun, what do you think the new century will bring? Use examples and details in your answer.
In the past century, human society has already witnessed a huge number of tremendous and incredible progress, such as the invention of computer and the common use of airplane. 21th century, in my perspective, would undergo great changes and bring many surprises as well.
Further advancement of science and technology, in the first place, will create unimaginable products. Nowadays, science and technology is more and more highlighted. People are required to be equipped with basic knowledge of science, while government and other agencies are increasingly investing into various research programs. With so much energy, time and money input, in this century, I believe, more and more surprising products will spring up. For instance, the use of robots in everybody’s own house can be widespread. Or, driving a car in the air may become true. And it is also possible that spacecraft being invented to make interplanetary traveling much easier.
Secondly, increasing awareness of environment protection human will have. So much accomplishment as human achieved in the last century, an increasing number of environmental problems are rising up, which raises more and more people’s concern over time. We now better understand how significant a healthy environment is. Therefore what people are going to do in this century is to pour much more attention into protecting environment. In daily life, putting trash into classified dustbins will become more usual. Those industries with high-level pollution will be discontinued. And also, the use of clean energy would replace the use of fossil sources.
Furthermore, this century will be such a century that everybody lives a more meaningful life. In the past century, though much material satisfaction human has obtained, many mental and spiritual needs have not yet been met. Over recent years, people are endeavoring to discover and pursue the meaning of life. For example, instead of trying to earn more money, many young adults choose not to work after graduation but dedicate themselves to the volunteer work in Africa because they have the desire the fulfill the meaning of life. And as this century progresses, an increasing number people will find the meaning of their life and take actions to live up to their own meaning.
In summary, with more surprising products invented, more awareness of environment protection and more meaningful lives people live, this century will be an unprecedented century.
