我选了C，在GMAT题目中，怎么分辨to do是和前面的to do平行还是，作为前面动作的目的而出现的？
就拿这题来说，从语义上，我认为C更好吧，期望他能够在年底翻倍从而提供足够的电能。
D的话就是希望在年底翻倍，和期望他能提供足够的电能。
我在这里认为to provide做expect的目的状语，比平行更加有逻辑。但是答案是D，是还有其他的语法错误吗？
如果单纯的平行结构，我觉得说不通啊，求大大解释！谢啦。

这个问题我觉得很好，楼上的解释也挺好，
C中的用法确实很少见，但是不知道是否一定错误。照说没有见词典中有expect sth that的用法，也就不应当有被的用法。但是有个句子是这样的the threat is expected that it will be carried out。
我倒觉得去掉it后使得that可以跳跃去作production的定语应该可行，当然，楼上说的不定式有岐义我觉得也有道理。

这个表达有点weird，idiom的方式有
it is expected that production will almost double by the end of the year
production is expected almost to double by the end of the year

另外：production is expected that it will almost double by the end of the year to provide
也是有歧义的，如下：
production is expected that it will almost double by the end of the year to provide
production is expected that it will almost double by the end of the year to provide

如果是C的话就是  产量  翻倍的目的是 提供N个人 用电
但事实是 产量 翻倍 和 提供多少人用电没有 目的关系啊！！！！
to do  是   目的是 的意思 不
而D中有一个 thus  ！！！！所以是因果关系
