我选的是A，OG说是因为用conception没有用conceive of简洁，但我想要问下，这个a tool for privateconversation作为同位语是就近修饰telephone吗？同位语一定就是就近修饰的吗？

还有一个问题，是B中的which,答案说which会产生指代歧义，那么在此句中which可以指代什么？radio和tool吗？which可以指代这句话中放在介词后面的名词，如substitute，telephone还有conversation吗？

A选项的Marconi's conception of the radio，看起来很奇怪。
选项B，but后应该是个从句或者是省略主语的从句。but后面加which就是很奇怪了。

关于A选项可以理解成动词的优先级吧，个人观点；
关于B，按照which的就近指代原则，应该理解成指代就近的 “conversation”，所以很显然不对，而且but后面+which确实很少见；

关于C我有一个问题，求指点，多谢！
就是，radio和that could substitute之间如果有as a tool for private conversation的话，是不是和that表示essential information的时候应该接根被修饰次的原则相矛盾呢？这一条原则我是在曼哈顿上看到的，谢谢了！

A中应该是动词优于名词使用，所以conceived比conception简洁。a tool for private conversation粗粗一看是作为同位语修饰telephone，但是根据整句话的意思，a tool是修饰radio的，所以修饰错误（再次证明GMAT是予以优先，语法其次，除非是硬伤型的语法错误）。which在这里就近指代telephone，但是实际应该指代radio，所以指代错误。（注意语义的理解）这是我的理解，欢迎大N 拍砖！

根据句意是指本来M的观点radio是用于私人的但是结果却相反，所以指代应该是radio

同问that的修饰问题

曼哈顿解释了一种跳跃修饰的情况，就是当主语修饰语很长而谓语修饰语或宾语较短时，为了避免将这部分放在后面产生的歧义，先把该说的说完，然后再接修饰语。我觉得这个情况跟那种情况类似，for private conversation较短，而that从句较长，但其实that是跳跃修饰tool。
我是这么理解的。不知道对不对。。

这个that的问题我不明白，我关键是还想问C正确选项中的代词it 为啥这儿就没有歧义了，距离radio那么远。。。还是说是个best的答案，因为其余选项的which都含混不清。我感觉GMAT考试中对which的指代很敏感。求牛人解答啊
