Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Watching television is bad for children.

When it comes to the issue whether it is bad to watch television or not, people give various responses. As far as I am concerned, watching too much television will influence their ordinary lives. As for the television which is about adult life, horror ghost and terrible murder, the less they watch, the better lives they will have. I will elaborate my reasons as follows.

The most pertinent reason I would provide is there are so many unhealthy movies, advertisement, and soap comedies showing on the television. Due to their age, children can not tell what is good for them and what is bad for them. They just watch what is going on. Therefore, parents should do their best to keep their children from contacting this kind of television show.

Another reason which can not be belittled is the fact that people tend to imitate others. As we know, children are more likely to imitate others without thinking. A nine year old boy may climb the high building and “fly” to the ground, for he just saw the famous film named hero in which actors usually fly around gracefully without hurting. A beautiful little girl may want to diet because she just watched television showing advertisement for diet drug. Children need guide when they are watching television.

Some people may argue that watching television sometimes enlarge the knowledge of children. I admit that some television shows provide benefit to children. Compared with the disadvantages of watching television, we will find that it is better for children to keep away from television.
