这个句子中的these就是承前指代，指代在它前面逻辑意思符合的比较近的一个复数名词，句中就是前面的endorphins，这个指代是明确的，即便这个these后面没有别的名词，作为读者，我们也不可能找到别的指代。所以是没问题的

剩下的情况2楼已经分析的很清楚了，相比AB两个选项，B中endorphins和exercise没有可比性，pain-relieving effect 和后面的吗啡也没有可比性。所以A一定是正确选项。

GWD前14套吧？前14套应该比较老。不过同疑问，求高人指点，A中的these感觉很awkward，指代不清，而且these在这种情况下不能单独做代词。

虽然用as和like能排除掉其他，但依然感觉A非常的奇怪
B：like exercise。like表示事物类似，不能表示方式类似，应该说成as exercise does，排除
C：adding flavors的是辣酱，而不是exercise，主谓不对应，排除。pain relieving像是morphine的一个effect，应该用like morphine's，或者说like that of morphine。排除
D: 主语release of endorphins不能add complementary flavor to food，主谓不对应，排除
E：同上。而且as with不对，排除

你说these矛盾还是什么矛盾。我唯一不能理解的就是A中的these

其他选项都可以顺利排除
代词模糊性不是fatal error的，最好不要拿来当作排除依据
