题目:TPO17 A&DA现在的广告是不是吹得比实际好?
With the development of customers' purchase power, advertising
plays an increasingly important role in selling. Merchants are finding different ways to accelerate product sales, including inviting celebrities, designing attractive advertising slogan and logo, and presenting magnified visual effect. According to public researches, populations are always prone to choose products they have heard on media. Advertising seems increasingly significant to attract potential customers from competitors. I agree with the position that most advertisements make products seem much better than they really are. Because there are several reasons listed below.

First of all, the aim of advertisement is to magnify the virtue in their products and the final goal of merchants is to make profit maximization. Since there's no strict laws formulating the actual effect of advertisement, it's rational for sellers to exaggerate the effect of their products. As a result, cars are always depicted to be so fast in advertisements that even leopards can't exceed it.

Another equal essential point why I advocate my propensity is that advertisement is some kind of art. While presenting on the TV show, advertisement is a representative of the rapid technological development in this field. Effect expressed in the pictures are totally more ideal than the general people's imagination. As a result, when we actually used the products, we are expecting the artistic effects but it turned out to be distinctive. I have experienced it for millions of times. As a result, when bought a bottle of shampoo, we can't anticipate that after several times of use, our hair could be so smooth that even a tomb put on hairs will slip down as is shown in the advertisement.

Finally, the celebrity effects in the advertisement also make products seems better that what they really are. It's too common that people buy particularly kind of products just because their favorite figure is sponsored by it. Take the sports clothes as a typical example, many people around me love NIKE just because Rafal Nadal, the famous tennis player who is their idiot is sponsored by this brand. It's the celebrity not the products who attract the buyers. Moreover, the handsome or beautiful looking of stars and the special social status enhance the quality and taste of the products, thus making it seem better than they really are.

In conclude, advertising is an impediment used to stimulate people to buy more products. Since they are ideal effects and it is magnified by producers, most advertisements make products seem much better than they really are. However, every coin has two sides, advertising adversely encouraged the technology development in different spheres. As consumers, we should foster a good and healthy view of consumption and buy what we need instead of what we want.
