我想问的是,我总觉得DE选项long before...写在整个句子最前面感觉像修饰整个句子(即修饰made和remained两句话),所以抛弃D选了C,求大牛指点!
还有OG对C的解释Inversion of the expected word order in to be an expatriate was unfashionable is awkward.一直不是很理解,看了前人的帖子还是没有领悟,求指点!

个人浅见:
Long before...在句首,但后面是形式主语结构:it was fashinable to be an expatriate 所以没有修饰问题了
C选项OG的解释是说,把 it was fashinable to be expatriate 写成 to be an expatiate was fashionable 很awkward~ 也就是说这种结构最好是形式主语,才比较符合他们的表达习惯~
THE ONLY PRONOUNS ON THE GMAT THAT DON'T HAVE TO STAND FOR NOUNS:
It + description+ that +complete sentence (independent clause)
It + description+ to +verb (infinitive)
It + (TOBE verb) + NOUN t做形式主语的时候不指代任何东西(这个知识点是新的!我之前以为会指代to do结构)
