关于比较中省略的一道题

the 10,000 years from the beginning of agriculture to 1950 是过去的时间段。前后对比的时态不一样

那改成it had?

我认为bej想说的是；
it had意思是it had grown
it did 意思是it grew
这里应该用过去式

那估计要bej回答了，

我的理解是因为这里是过去时，没有助动词也没有情态动词，所以用did 代替verb.
这种省略我认为是比较常见的，我们经常说     ……So do I  。这个do就是代替了前边说话的动词

did就是助动词啦，补充完整就是...more than it grew during the 10,000 years from the beginning of agriculture to 1950.
during the 10,000 years from the beginning of agriculture to 1950是过去的时间段，it had表示过去的过去，语法上来看没有明确的完成时标志，than之前是现在时，之后是过去完成时，之间感觉就会有个时态的gap，既然已经在农业时代开始到1950年的一千年间结束，即不再延续，怎么还可能在1990年之后继续grow并一直到现在呢？这逻辑上也讲不通，你感受下
