I believe many chinese in top 10 business school have annual pay above 20W before MBA. It's also not a surprise that some have 40-50W.esp. those working in consulting industry (e.g.Mckinsey,Acenture and PWC) or managers in MNC (e.g.HSBC/Citi). I only heard one exceptional case, that a VP in CICC, rejected MIT as his current pay in Beijing is USD200K.
Some people may not find a better job immediately after graduation, but in long-term, it's a great investment. For example, one in Accenture with annual pay 40W may think he is very successful. But after graduation, his ambition may go to Private Equity, and his starting pay in PE in China may be also 40W. But his future will be changed as he only know what his dream is after coming to top business school. In China, we can lost direction and don't know what to achieve (unless you think 30W as a manager in a JV is already good enough for the rest of your life). |
