刷OG看到这道题，也不太懂them的指代，但是到了斑竹的解释，好像有点懂了～

C选项说
Laos has a land area that is about the same size as Great Britain's land area, but in Laos with a population of only four million people, many of them are members of hill tribes ensconced in the virtually inaccessible mountain valleys of the north.

如果这样的话其其实从in开始到后面的逗号都是修饰部分，可以删去不看，原句就变成了
Laos has a land area that is about the same size as Great Britain's land area, but many of them are members of hill tribes ensconced in the virtually inaccessible mountain valleys of the north.
Ls不觉得这个用but连接的句子的them没有指代吗？
如果像LS所说，加一个and就变成了这样
Laos has a land area that is about the same size as Great Britain's land area, but and many of them are members of hill tribes ensconced in the virtually inaccessible mountain valleys of the north.这样不仅them没有指代，而且连词也不对了。

主要的问题还是不要被 in Laos with a population of only four million people的结构迷惑了，它不是可以在but后面跟前面的句子并列的～

as Great Britain is是不是可以补出Great Britain's land area?

如果补出这个，是不是还是对比对象错？就变成了laos的国土size和英国的land area的对比？

问题我没看懂 你写的例句是错的

正确写法：
1. Laos has a land area about the same size as Great Britain has. NOT "as Great Britain is" NOT "of about"
2. Laos has a land area about the same size as that of Great Britain.

关于第二个，我觉得比较其实某种意义上也要平行吧，因为比较是平行的一种特殊形式嘛。我想问 前面没有相对应的xx of结构，这里的that of不会有歧义吗？跟前面平行吗？

我觉得这样应该更准确吧：land area of laos is about the same size as that of britain

比较不是平行的特殊形式 这种说法有问题 留意不要去看很多国人总结的东西 推荐你去看一下manhattan SC和搜索国外instructor的解释 这些分析更接近本质

i.e. 比较不一定要平行 虽然多数情况下有这个要求
i.e. 2 平行不是绝对要求，是美观的需要；具体做题时用来比较优劣，不用来严格判断错误

谢谢猴哥赐教！不过我记得我就是在manhattan上看到的 比较是平行的特殊形式。。。。那本书我看完啦～

还有最后一个问题 猴哥不要嫌我烦。。。

Laos has a land area about the same size as Great Britain is 这句话我觉得是对的，as Great Britain is 可以补充成as Great Britain's land area，这样的话就还是land area间相互比较了～

您觉得这句话对吗？
