Just got the email from LBS and I'm finally accepted by LBS MiF!

BG: - T 101/ Ielts 8(expired), G 700+;
      - 4 ys Big 4, 3 ys US IPO manager, half year Swiss F500 company FP&A manager
      - ACCA membership

I submitted my application on 30/April (R5 deadline), got my interview invite on 23/May, had my interview with allumni on 3/June, and finally got the offer yesterday!

I think my interview experience might be helpful to the prospective applicants (my contribution to CD):

My interview started with the self-introduction and lasted more than two hours. The interviewer did ask me a lot of questions, but it was more like a casual conversation! The questions included

- Self-introduction,
- Why MiF (espeically comparing to MBA),
- tell me the most exciting part of your job,
- tell me the most challenging part of your job,
- any international experiences, describe each,
- any experience managing the conflicts with the foreign colleagues and how to manage,
- technical parts (eg. she asked two technical questions about the points that i mentioned in the essays),
- leadership experience and style
- your first and alternative ST goals, and tell me how much you know about the ECM in IB and what qualities they value,
- How to manage your study and social time in MiF programme,
- Contribution to the LBS and MiF,
- Evaluate your undergraduate school and how you performed in that period,
- Your hobbies,
- To be continued... (I'll add here when more questions come up in my mind)

I also experienced the part of seemingly persuading me not to do the programme, for I was challenged by my IBD ST career goal and told to choose MBA, but luckily I was saved by my LT goal which is the asset management firms. I think this is what the interviewer was told to do, challenging your committement.

I used to work in Munich, and I love Europe! Can't wait to fly to London!

谢谢Yu Ji and Yungkin！今天去LBS portal里看了下我们这个班级情况，发现MiF FT14背景都特别的好，超过了我的预期，很多都是Bulge Brackets 和 Asset management firms' VP和directors, 还发现了有很多读完MBA之后又来读MiF的，其中不乏一些名校的MBA (诸如ROSS, IMD等)和名校的本科 (诸如Harvard, Yale等，其中七个英国人本科都是牛剑LSE).

大陆今年共招了十四名，包括五个北大，一个清华，三个复旦，一个人大，一个交大，一个牛津，一个US，外加我一个非北清复交的吊丝，背景以证券金融，资产管理，咨询，外资投行，四大，税务为主.

MiF part time 学生都很强，一起上选修课的时候，你就会发现；但他们因为要工作，有些可能甚至不在伦敦工作，唯一不好就是约时间一起做 group project 比较难

恭喜楼主！请教一下，MiF跟MBA前辈们是怎么抉择的？在英国读书的时候就非常向往LBS，但是在国内美国MBA名气又比较大，纠结。。

第一次在CD问问题 昨天刚决定考Gmat，打算报2014入学的试试, 对gmat和申请过程完全没有底。BG: Oxford 4年本硕 ＋ 3年us dollar pe fund （不是top tier的）

楼上既然已经有 oxford 本硕，除非楼上非常想在伦敦工作，否则我的建议是不如去美国读MBA吧，这样欧洲美国的学习经验都有。

LBS 对 GMAT 要求不高，MBA 和 MiF 平均分都大约700，反而比较注重个人经验。考到700基本上够用，不用再花钱花时间再考。

MiF 和 MBA 都有各自的必修课，MiF 必修科较少，都是金融类的，MBA还得读管理学，市场学，等等；选修课是大家一起上的，MiF 的选修课以金融相关的为主，MBA 什么都有。同学，MIF 都是金融背景的，也会有些外国中央银行，金融监管机构等的员工来读；MBA 就什么背景都有可能有。

如果你很肯定自己会从事金融业，而且有一定金融业的经验背景，MiF 可能会比较适合你。如果你还不确定自己想干哪行，或者想从其他行业转去金融业或其他行业，MBA 会比较适合你。

除了以上所说，时间和学费的差异，也可能是一个考虑因素。MiF 一年读完，MBA 要 1.5 - 2年，MBA 学费和生活费都比 MiF 要高。
