Do you agree or disagree: it is easier for people nowadays to maintain healthy?
One of the everlasting issues is alwaysregarding how to maintain healthy. During which period, current time or thepast time, is it easier for people to keep fit? Some people argue that nowadayswith the development of science and technology, advanced armarium and medicine areavailable. However, personally, I’m not positive about the current situationand my observation and own experience tell me that it is not easier for peoplenowadays to achieve their physical welfare because of their irregularlifestyle, environment pollution and lack of physical exercise. First and foremost, people are devoting allthemselves to the high-speed city lives and thus leading to irregular andunhealthy lifestyle. It is not rare to see that white-collared workers eattheir breakfast at the bus station, waiting for their buses, which definitelydo damage to their digestion, and that some students and scientists burn theirnight oil out to work out for their papers or researches, during which timethey should relax themselves and enjoy a euphoric sleep. Those situations arecommon especially for young adults who spare no efforts to achieve their goalsand make a living for their whole family. And thus it is extremely difficultfor them to stay healthy compared with the former generation who under lesspressure and lead regular lifestyle. My uncle, a extremely famous surgery inBeijing tumor hospital, suffers from irregular lifestyle. The primaryobligation for a doctor is to save life and relief patients’ illness. My uncleneeds to see tens of patients and do X-rays for them, which has high radiation.Absorbed in his work and worry about his patients, he frequently missed out hismeals and suffers from insomnia. From this point, it is never easy for themodern generation to keep fit. Second, with the development of industry, environmentalpollution has been around, which, without doubt, exerts a negative effect onpeople’s basic health. PM 2.5, one kind of air pollution caused by heavyindustry in China, is the case that can best illustrate this point. Large scaleof industry, wide usage of motor vehicles and generation of electricity allinvolve emit greenhouse and air-polluted gases, such as nitrogen dioxide andmetropolitans, such as Beijing suffer from such pollution: the whole city is dimmingwith countless detrimental particles breathed in and out by people. What atragedy! The deteriorating pollution is threatening people’s physical safety, letalone health. Admittedly, people are having more accessto advanced medical equipment and sports facilities, which boosts betterphysiques. However, busy at work and various trifles, they find themselves notavailable to frequent sports while sports are one of the most important foundationsfor health. For example, my father is the VIP for three fitness centre, but hebarely goes these gyms to work out. Owning the sources is not equal to usingthem. Therefore, lack of sports and exercises also increases hardness forpeople to approach health. In conclusion, high speed of life peoplenowadays are leading and general physical environment do not favor theimprovement of people’s fitness and thus it is too optimistic to reach to the conclusionthat it is easier to maintain healthy nowadays.
