关于also的用法

1.      also单独使用时表示“也”的意思。

2.      当只出现and also，其后的also没有太大意义，视为相对性错误。

3.      Also不能用于习惯搭配中，扰乱其结构，视为绝对性错误。如，

4.      not only…but also…表递进，不能用于否定句；当notonly位于句首，其引导的分句的主谓要倒装，且倒装时but also 之间可插入成分，如but he also。

一说，来自prep08的GWD-7-Q20，认为表转折。正确句子：The systematic clearing of forests in the United States created farmland(especially in the Northeast) and gave consumers relatively inexpensive housesand furniture, but it also caused erosion and very quickly deforested wholeregions.

我有一个疑问，这里also可不可以看成是在but引导的分句里作副词表示“也”的意思而与but并没有构成一个整体？

一说，来自prep08的GWD-8-Q20，认为表递进，不同于but。

从网上查到句子Those anticancer drugs are effective, butalso destructive to white blood cells.来看应该是表转折，不知道对不对。
