the site of an ancient civilization that....这里的that难道不是修饰the site么？the site 才是主语吧？那这样理解的话和后面的civilizations会不会有miscomparison的问题呢？楼主一上来就把A和B给排掉了，囧

step1:短題句可以把5個選項先掃一遍
step2:發現差異點為that/helping Verb., 還有最重要的比較結構the same time as
step3:找比較結構中的可比性,看those是否有複數的名詞可以指代,很不幸地發現前面只有the site of an ancient civilization是單數,無法代替,刪掉(C)(D)(E)
step4:比較結構中不可以前後都是過去的過去,時態上錯誤,刪掉(B),得(A)
如果不喜歡step4,可以比較(A)(B)發現一個有補出helping Verb一個沒有,則看一下是否需要補出,往前看發現在the same time as前面只有一個N(Subject),再不會造成歧異的情況下,不需要刻意的補出helping Verb.,刪掉(B),得(A)

如果是flourishing 那么这个就是civilization的修饰语，后面的did就没有可以替代的动词了
