Congratulations, Suncola!
I am also planning to apply to CBS.
Wish we could be classmates. Are you apply for Class 2005?
But when I was looking at their online application, I found that in the category of "Industry" and "Job Function", CBS mainly listed business related fields. For me, I am a civil engineer and I could not find any proper industry or job function for my background in their online system. This experience made me curious how much CBS value the diversity in their students' background. Do you have any information about that? Does CBS prefers only the traditional applicants? Are there a good number of non-traditional applicants admitted?
Sorry I don't have much info on this issue. But don't worry about the diversity. Now we have an email group for most of the admitted students this year. And I know they come from various business functions, including some engineers or with High Tech background. I don't believe they use the job function to prioritize applicants. In my view I think you could use the blank space to describe what you do in detail, which is much stronger support on what you have achieved in w/e than the job function choice. And it is without word limit, much better than HBS's and Stanford's system.
To be frank, I think you are sort of sensitive. Actually I had a look on HBS's and Stanford's system. I can't find proper choice for my 2 years auditing experience, either. So do you think HBS or Stanford refuse auditors or lack of diversity?
Hope my info helps. Wish you a good luck in application!
