GWD-10-Q8这题prep里面一个解释我弄不明白求帮助

• especially强调严重性，specially强调特殊性，根据原义，选especially；of the respiratory system的插入，导致to deal可以修饰动词diminish，歧义
  

不明白为什to deal会修饰diminish啊? 到底产生了什么歧义?  of the respiratory system怎么就变成插入语了呢?  

搞不明白好难受啊, 求nn解答!!谢谢!!

亲，说的是of the respiratory system的插入，不是插入语。。
capability的idiom有2中：1. capability to do，要连用；2.capability of doing sth.
这里关于to deal修饰diminish的歧义：感觉Sulfur dioxide diminishs 呼吸系统的 capability 是为了deal with all other pollutants. 明显不合逻辑

这个题to deal 因为有作目的状语的岐义，所以他说修饰diminish.   
但是这个问题挺有意义的。我们自己写东西的时候注意不要犯这样的错误

哦!!!!!我懂了
就是说capability to do被插入了东西就不是做什么的能力的意思了, capability of... 单单是一个名词短语
to deal with 变成了 diminish的目的

豁然开朗, 解决了揪心问题感觉就是好!!

个人觉得这个东西，仅仅说修饰to deal的歧义，好像不是特别persuasive~
A中的to也有可能这么修饰啊？

PREP笔记给的解释总是这么销魂...
