Cergy, June 29, 2004. Seven years after it became the first grande école to be accredited by AACSB International and four years after having implemented major changes in its grande école program to transform it into an MBA, ESSEC now assesses the positive results of its innovative positioning.

The first class of students to follow the MBA program graduated in July 2003. Results of the latest Employment Survey show that ESSEC, through its unique and original “integrated MBA,” was able to adapt its teachings to corporate requirements, sending out onto the job market young graduates who are well trained, operational and internationally trained.

Recognition by recruiters has begun, and the first results are encouraging.

What are the more significant characteristics of this program?

- an increase in the length of integrated professional experience: 22 months has become the average, with the minimum set at 18 months, in comparison with the six months

previously required. This has become the longest professional experience requisite of all the

grandes écoles at present, and these nearly two years contribute greatly to the personal and

professional maturity of our students. This maturity is what most surprises our recruiters

at present,

- integration of this experience with methods that remain original in the university

environment: assessment center, tutoring, Development Day, etc. Each student has a

professor-tutor to help him formalize, structure and evaluate his goals and his personal and

professional achievements throughout his program. ESSEC has acquired advanced

experience in this area,

- diversification of the student body: 30% of students admitted on the basis of a first

degree have five years of university training, there are more than 20% foreign students,

courses are shared by ESSEC MBA and Executive MBA, etc. This mix of various populations

results in greater maturity for our students,

- rise in the level of effort required: the growing maturity of students is changing their

behavior. Our students work hard and progress throughout their studies; being accepted

into the program is only the first step,

- intensified international exposure of students: more than 600 foreign students on

campus, average international experience lasting six months (university exchange or

professional experience), a faculty with 1/3 foreign professors and 1/3 having prepared

their thesis abroad.

These changes result in the excellent integration of our students on the job market, even during

the present difficult economic period, with encouraging levels of responsibility and

remuneration. In France, ESSEC is the most often cited as the recruiters’ preferred business school. The latest employment survey reveals that half of students found a job before

graduation and the majority of the others in just a few months. This situation has been

maintained despite the recent tight job market. An increasing number of students see their MBA recognized by international employers, and they are hired on the associate level in investment banks.

Last, recent developments on the international front reflect this success and recognition.

These include a strengthened alliance with Mannheim University, the best business school

in Germany, the opening of the ESSEC Asian Center in Singapore, the signing or extension of exchange agreements with the best MBAs in the world1 (Kellogg, Chicago, Cornell, Berkeley,

Instituto de Empresa, Keio, etc.).

The strategic context of the MBA model

The appearance of a new Executive MBA model aimed at the 30-40 age group offering new

formats (part-time, modular, on-line) and the recruitment of younger students without

professional experience for the generalist MBA characterizes developments in the strategic

context of the MBA. The ESSEC MBA management is visionary in its anticipation of this new

context and innovative with its model of an “integrated MBA.” This new concept has a double

foundation: first, supervision by specialists of student professional experience

(tutoring/coaching) and second, the very high academic level of the grande école. ESSEC clearly advertises its intention of capitalizing on its robust French grande école base to position itself on the international level. The MBA label increases the School’s visibility on the international scene and facilitates graduate mobility throughout the world.

就算ESSEC的Grande Ecole项目成了上MBA榜的唯一一个Grande Ecole项目，也是因为他名字改成了MBA。要是HEC和ESCP等学校也把Grande Ecole项目改成叫MBA，恐怕ESSEC就不是唯一的了。

你的假设是成立的。 但是, 创新即是第一个去想并做到. 后继者你不能称之为Innovation. 况且HEC和ESCP本来就有MBA，何谈去改革他们的Grand Ecole项目.   
总之， ESSEC MBA是潜力股啦。再过两年，成绩大家将看的到。

归根到底一句话：去ESSEC读MBA性价比不昨滴

呵呵, 关于学费确实是个争议性的问题.  两年大约共两万八千欧元?  就看怎么比较了.
ESSEC学制相对灵活, 最短两年内完成学业. 加上一年半的实习, 最多可以在四年内毕业. 这也是不同于其他MBA的特点.  1/3以上的中国学生可以拿到埃菲尔奖学金. 目前其余的中国学生每年减免学费两千欧.大部分同学做满一年半的实习, 平均补助一千欧每月. 另外,学校各院系图书馆还是有不少做助手的机会.  听说现在可以申请到低息贷款,也不失为一个好的途径.
想读高商, 不否认参加SAI是第一选择. 有位仁兄说的好,  四校不会因此扩招吧.
要读MBA, 就得按照MBA的规则去选择.  法国也就那么几所MBA.  我也只是提供多一些信息供诸位参考啦.
