两所学校：Boston College 和Ohio State

为何bw和usnews对他们的排名相差这么远？
这两所到底怎么样，在美国的名声如何，在中国好象不行嘛。（有人说bc是在hbs的中国学生的lp聚集的学校，是吗？！）

I do not know the bschool of BC, however I know that BC holds better reputation than Boston University which is thught as a party school. My previous roommate who graduated fom Harvard told me he thinks that BC is a small and decent school, but he does not like BU at all although his girl friend graduzted from BU.

但在美国BC在中流校里， 还是算很不错的了

BU是party school， 这个连西岸的人都知道

The Ohio State Univ. is one of the BIG TEN and the 2002 NCAA Football national champion, I bet every American knows it.
Fisher has exceptional facilities, a small class size, reasonable price, cheap living expenses...
however, the placement is not good...
As a MBA student you have chance get a Graduate Administrative Assistant (GAA) in the second year, which provides tuition waiver plus part of living expenses.
I'd say it's a good place to study engineering and science.

So, from the above two points, Ohio State should NOT be a good choice for MBA

Before 2000, Osu is attractive to Chinese students for its reasonable price and nice placement, but it raised its tuition this year.
If you are a sport fan, it is definitely a good choice, not only football, its basketball team is good as well.

Well, in Business, both BC and OSU ranks out of 30s. However, in USnew, OSU ranks 19th while BC ranks 41st, increadible?
So I really doubt the how reasonable the rankings?!

I used to stay in Columbus and even took a course in Fisher. Some professors are excellent, but some ...   I have no experience with Boston and BC, but I don't think there is a big difference between those two.  If you want a solid business education, I suggest you to apply again.
BTW, I was also shocked by the ranking of US News. Maybe it counts facilities as an important criteria. Who knows.

OSU has better ranking in USnews is because it placed more student than other schools. If I remember correctly, the number is 93%, even better than some top-10 school.

Allen, have you considered some Chinese program? Based on what I gathered in this trip, I think if you want to further your career in China, CEIBS or CKGSB could be better for you.
