学术声望高不高跟master好不好找工作没有直接关系。下面这篇日志倒是把CMU黑出翔了，而且根据这个日志，CMU ECE是不能dominate Cornell的

我还有个想法，请问前辈觉得去Cornell 后选些finance的课再转mfe的可行性大吗？
可能不能直接找到矿工的工作，不过觉得如果在it领域工作几年后有转矿工的option很不错

Every time I visited master forum, I'm amazed by the information barrier here.

Seriously, nobody does that now. Software engineering at top IT firm like Google or Facebook is considered as top tier job, on par with investment banking and management consulting. Why the hell do you want to do quant? Very few quant jobs pay more than equivalent IT jobs now, with much worse life style.

Don't even mention potential or upside.  Nowadays, the chance you earn 7 figures as quant is as low as hit startup jackpot as developer. The difference is, in the latter case you may earn enough for your retirement at once and in the former case you need to work like slave every day.

Disclaimer: I'm a quant in mega hedge fund and from CMU. I extremely regret my decision of working in finance years ago.
