TOPIC: The most important education that a person gets is from outside schools and classrooms.
思路:支持
1、学校只能学到理论知识,不能付诸实践。
2、日后工作时需要许多软技能和学习能力,这些无法在课堂内学到
3、课内只能向老师学习,而课外可以从更多的人那里学到更多的东西
When talking about education, what most people come up first may be school buildings, classrooms, textbooks, and so on. It’s quite natural to associate education with this kind of things, considering the large proportion of time we spend in school. However, this is only a small part of what we mean by “education”. And there is a prevalent belief that the most important education that a person gets is from outside schools and classrooms.
Firstly, we can only learn theories in classrooms. However, it’s useless to just memorize a large number of theories without putting them into practice. It is the ability to use them in reality that really matters. There is an old Chinese saying, “talking about stratagems on paper”, which refers to the people who only know the knowledge in books but can’t use them efficiently and effectively. As you can see, you can never just rely on classroom-teaching to cultivate your abilities.
Secondly, if you want to be qualified for your job, you still need lots of skills which can’t be taught by your teachers, that is, the so-called “soft skills”. Take the communication skill as an example. How can you become communicated if you are only buried in books all days long? You have to take part in after-class activities and communicate more with others. Only in such way can you feel easy to deal with people, thus helping you adapt to your working environment and get competent for you job quickly.
Last but not least, you can only learn from your teachers in classrooms, but you can learn from all kinds of people outside classrooms, like your parents and friends. Maybe you don’t do it on purpose, but they do exert a formative influence on you, no matter on the way you doing things or on the habits you form. Such influences can shape your personality and will help you a lot in the future. Besides, the experience from others can also make you more mature and help you avoid detours. As the old proverb goes, “experience is a most precious treasury”.
Generally speaking, although schools and classrooms are designed to pass on knowledge, however, you can never be content with the knowledge you have learned in school. Remember, the most important education you get is from outside schools. |
