那这个时候，  comma+V-ing 可能
1） 作定语修饰 him
2） 作状语修饰主句中的主语和谓语 Duke Ellington was looking

大神，我也有问题，关于D选项用that being someone,OG的解释是说太过wordy,而并没有说that...的修饰对象有问题。我的疑问是，在being 和 that being在修饰对象上有没有区别啊（就是D选项和E选项的修辞中心语的区别该怎么判断呢）？

我觉得这里that being是that 从句的结构，这整个句子做限制性定语修饰之前的him。
而being引导的是分词结构，同楼上说的，既可以修饰前面句子的主语和谓语（因为之前的句子是主系结构，所以这里分词不是表伴随，只是修饰作用），也可以修饰紧跟的代词him

因为not only 是修饰后面的动作，所以放在who后面靠近could比较好
