First, LSE and IC are top universities in the world, and are definitely on the same par as US schools.
Second, LSE clearly has a much better brand name than IC. IC is more famous for its engineering and science accomplishments and faculty, rather than finance.
The decision, for you I believe is “where” you want to work i.e. IB or Consultancy. As a previous IB, I will stress than a finance major or background is very important, where in consulting
a general background is generally accepted, and it is more about intelligence and people skills rather than specialised strategy or management background.
If you choose to work in IB, than IC Finance, and if you choose consulting than LSE is better.
Third, working in Asia later. Than the LSE background will certainly take you further as the alumni network is very strong, and a highly respected brand.
Lastly, my overall advice is about your overall career choices. As with all things in life, your career direction, life and future will all change with due time. And the see the degree
As simply the stepping stone to your career, post 3 yrs in a job, no one in finance or consulting will care about what degree your got. Rather than your are a diligent, hard working individual.
To achieve this, it is crucial that your choose a career path than you enjoy, and will succeed into the future.
Hope it helps |
