Thanks for your advise, I know that NYU is best for her quantatative reputation, I do not know whether it would help me for my trading career since some of my trader friends has suggested me to enroll in some financial courses.


I guess I need to have a chat with directors of both program to know which one have better track records in trading industury.

If you go to NYU, you may end up being a desk quant, assisting the traders, and then seek opportunities to trade on your own
If you go to Columbia, you may end up being a macro analyst, and then seek opportunities to trade on your own
This is just my two cents.. But yes you are right, go to talk with the program directors. Their suggestions are more informative than the guys' here (including me)

一般人很难给意见，还得看大神怎么想的。本屌丝把知道的说一下。。。NYU的金数和哥大的fin econ都是神级项目，甚至比王子屯还要难。NYU的金数在街上就业还是一霸的，baruch的就业率更是恐怖在纽约。哥大的fin econ是为了你以后读顶级名校phd做准备的，录取率极低，每年只招10个左右。看大神你是想毕业就工作还是想读phd了。
