In this argument, the arguer concludes thatthe difference in pest damage between the Fly-Away Pest Control Company and theBuzzoff Pest Control Company is best explained by the negligence of Fly-Away.To substantiate this argument, the author points out that there is more worthof food destroyed at the warehouse in Palm city than that in Wintervale. Theauthor also points out that they have used the Buzzoff Pest Control company formany years in Palm City. However, there are other explanations opposite to thecontentions in this argument.

Firstly, the author assumes that theabsolute number of worth of food damaged by pest damage definitely representsthe ability of the pest control company. The author fails to offer the exactratio of food damaged in these warehouses. It is entirely possible that thecardinal of food in Palm City is very big so that the ratio of the damaged foodis less than that in Wintervale, which shows better efficiency of Fly-Away. Evenif  the absolute number can address thisproblem, the discovery made last month cannot illustrate all the results of thepreservation in Palm City. Maybe this discovery consequence is occasional.Without considering and ruling out these factors reverse to the contentionscannot the author conclude that the work of Fly-Away is not very good.

Secondly, based on the facts above, theauthor also assumes that the circumstances and every condition in Palm City arethe same as those in Wintervale. The differences in these cities are neglected.Perhaps, the climate is hotter and it rains a lot in Palm City, making itharder for workers to preserve the food quality. To put more emphasis on thenegative aspects of Fly-Away which can support this argument, the author failsto provide the bad aspects of the Buzzoff Pest Control Company and assumes thatthe quality of service in the Buzzoff Pest Control Company has remainedunchanged during the past years. Perhaps, the Buzzoff Pest Control Company hasfailed to provide good service recently due to the declining level of workforce.


Finally, even if no alternative explanationis adverse to the two foregoing assumptions, the author assumes that the bestreason for this circumstance is the negligence of Fly-Away. However, thereasons for it can be various. For example, the workers of Fly-Away are notcompetitive as those in the Buzzoff Pest Control Company.

Insum, this argument can be doubted by other contrary explanations. The authorhas to provide more evidence that the ratio of damaged food in these 2warehouses in the previous years. More information about the circumstances ofthese two cities are also needed. To better assess this argument, this argumentshould need to tell us all the reasons explaining the phenomenon and therunning condition of the Buzzoff Pest Control Company in the past.
