求背景分析，女生，国内普通本科，IT 2年+咨询公司3年，申top80靠谱吗

女生，国内普通二类本科07年毕业，英专(有TEM8),毕业后在一家TW IT公司混了2.5年项目管理，后来转行进了一家美资咨询公司待了3年，希望可以申个T80内的北美MBA，2014年出去，现在G正在考，GPA很惭愧的还没转出来(估计>3.0没问题)。
Recommendation letter方面问题不大，但是一直觉得自己背景有太多硬伤：1)文科生（还是英专.....唉);2) 公司名气都不是特别大；3）有过跨行经历，4) 家境一般....等等
被朋友泼了N次冷水，希望有大牛指点一下，这种情况，除了努力刷高GT成绩之外，还有什么是值得拿出来当亮点的....

Don’t underestimate yourself. There’s a saying “don’t worry about the thing that you don’t have control over.” Right now, you don’t have control over you GPA, undergrad major, or previous work experience. Concentrate on getting a good GMAT score (1 month). After that, spend some time thinking about what you want to do with your life, and how your past experiences will help you toward that goal. Write a killer essay, which your English degree will help you with (see, it’s useful already) (3-4 months). Work proactively with your recommenders on good anecdotal examples of your positive traits.

I would not recommend applying to US b-schools below top 30 by BusinessWeek ranking. BusinessWeek because it takes into account employer survey that US News or FT doesn’t. It’s hard enough getting a good job for international students out of top tier schools, getting one out of top 80 or even 50 will be extremely difficult.

When reading through the ChaseDream forums, I noticed a lot of emphasis on test scores. While test scores are important, I feel the MOST important aspect of your application the logic behind your career progression,and your personality. I feel like this is a culture gap issue. Chinese education system from elementary to 高考 emphasizes admission based on score. This is not the case for US education model, especially for b-school. There is nothing wrong with getting a super high score; it will help your chance somewhat. However, it may provide a false sense of security. At the end of the day, I think b-school AdComs are using scores more or less as a cut off/threshold, instead of as a key decision maker.

谢谢楼上所有的人给我的鼓励和提供的信息，念MBA是我坚定要去实现的一个梦想，可能是过去几个月发生太多变化：和男朋友分手，和工作了3年的公司分手...一起备战的一个我觉得挺优秀的朋友匆匆考了个640选择了一个T80的学校准备7月入学, 让我对自己产生了一些怀疑，对择校方面也保守了些。
看到大家的回复，说实话我好感动.... 我想这段追逐梦想的过程里，收获的应该不止会是一纸offer letter.
