It is better to relax by a movie or reading a book than doing physical exercise

What is the best way to relax? As our lives today are becoming more stressful and less leisure, the increasing rate of nerve-racking diseases is forcing us to find  out the answer. Although relaxing via books and movies are sometimes treated as a vehicle to express elegant tastes of art, I am firmly convinced that physical exercise is the optimal option to alleviate pressure for highly-educated folks and averaged citizens alike. My reasons are listed below.

At the first place, people today are living a sedentary lifestyle as non-manual work has become the mainstream in various realms. The fierce competition and multiply stress force the white-collars to seat in front of the computers all through the day in order to obtain a competitive edge. The physical inactivity has already generated diverse detrimental influence on health, such as obesity and anxiety. As a consequence, the demand for methods to relax, not only mentally, but also physically, is urgent. Physical exercise is widely acknowledged to go a long way in this aspect, since the stress will gradually evaporate companied by the outflow of swear.

What’s more, beside a rest for muscles, physical exercises can afford us an opportunity to calm the nerves and restore the soul by decoding our lives and the world in a refreshing viewpoint. Just imaging, when you are jogging in open field, surrounded by gentle wind and fragrance of flowers, you can get a chance to incorporate yourself into nature and expand your outlook. Troubles and failures you have experienced may become trifles along with the change of your mindset, and this edification will never drop you by if you forever lock yourself inside home.

Finally, physical exercises have the capacity of reshaping our personalities in a positive way and augment our social circles. Along with the explicit delegation of responsibility in work place, some employees are assigned to work merely with cold machine and lack social activities, this phenomenon, however, may lead them to become solitary and reserved. Physical exercise, especially team work such as basketball and baseball can provide them with an opportunity to meet new friends and drive off loneness, a function that are particularly crucial for modern citizens.

From what has been discussed above, it is safe to reach the conclusion that there is no better way to relax than to exercise, and it is highly recommended that we cultivate a regularly habit of workout.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
Most people often let others make decisions for them rather than
make decisions by themselves.

People today are losing track of their own decisions. This sort of remarks has gained momentum over last few years among both experts and average citizens. Nevertheless, although we are living under mounting stress and competition, which are likely to constrain our liberty of making decisions, I am still firmly convinced that we are in charge of our own choices. My reasons are listed below.

First of all, the education we have acquired sets a considerable store by the ability to think independently, thus, juniors today have ceased to think in term of the “mainstream” and “others” and begun to seek the gateway to control their own decisions. Take the career planning as an example, in past decades, attending university sounded to be only choice available for high school students since they had been instilled of this viewpoint over a long period. The young students today, however, enjoy diversified choices about their further career thanking for the support from their family and the society as a whole.

Furthermore, along with the development in economic, employees are no longer threatened by the danger of starvation and exposure, consequently, individuals have been provided with the freedom to make decisions in tune with their inner yearning rather than realistic requirements. As a recent survey conducted by Boston University
geared toward freshmen in job market, a large percent of the subjects claimed that they have changed several jobs, chasing for new challenge and experience. Hence, the decisions of career are grasped in our own hands now.

Finally, our society has come a long way in the revolution of human rights. Several minorities, which used to be restrained by prejudice, are now equipped with the ability to make their own decisions. As an example, the Africa American, a group of people who were deprived of the right to accept education few centuries ago, have gotten their event triumph in president campaign. The whole spectrum of human, regardless their race, gender, religious, are free in decisions now, which is an achievements that are remarkable all through the history of humanity.

From what has been discussed above, it is indisputable to reach the conclusion that we are able to make decisions for ourselves rather than any one else.

The lecture apparently disputes the points illustrated in the reading material. According to the passage, the “ let it burn” policy should be replaced with a policy extinguishing the forest fire as soon as they appeared since the fire has caused several devastating damages to Yellowstone National Park. However, yet none of them regard in the eye of lecture.

First of all, the professor claims that vegetation of forest will not be destroyed but obtain an opportunity to develop. Diverse new species, such as smaller plants, which require enough space and energy to grow, will boom after the fire. Furthermore, the seeds will not be destroyed unless the temperature is extremely high, so the new generation of plants will appear soon. In contrast, the reading passage points out that the Yellowstone fire caused tremendous damage to the parks’ tree and other vegetation. So the lecture totally disagrees with the view made in the reading passage.

Second, the passage demonstrates that the park wildlife was affected as well. In the lecture, the professor admits that the population of animal will recovery entirely and become rather flourishing. The advent of small plants will make the park an ideal habitat for small animals, such as rabbit. The population of prayers, whose existence leans on small animals, will boost too. The food chain, consequently, could become stronger.

Finally, the passage raises the issue that the fires compromised the value of the park as a tourist attraction, which in turn had negative consequences for the local economy. The professor opposes to the writers expectation. She asserts that the forest fire is quite unusual in this region and was exerted by several rare contributing factors, such as low rainfall, strong wind, which will not occur repeatedly. The tourists will visit here next year and years later. Consequently, the damage to the local tourism is just temporary.

In conclusion, the point made in the lecture contracts with what is presented in the reading material.

The lecture apparently disputes the points illustrated in the reading material. According to the passage, Planting genetically modified trees on a large scale promises to bring a number of benefits. However, yet none of them regard in the eye of lecture.

First of all, the professor claims that the genetically modified species are resistant to particular condition, a character that cannot ensure their existences. The non-modified trees are genetically diverse, so when they are afflicted by detrimental conditions, such as invasion of insects and adverse climate, at least a handful of them can resist and survive. The modified trees, however, are more uniform, and are likely to be wiped out when exposed to environmental change. Hence, the lecture totally disagrees with the view made in the reading passage.

Secondly, the passage demonstrates that genetically modified trees promise to bring a number of economic benefits to those who grow them. Oppositely, in the lecture, the professor admits that the cost will soar rather than decline since the merchants tend to charge more for seeds in view of the expense in the process of genetic modification. Furthermore, the peasants cannot collect seeds from the harvested fruits and have to pay for the seeds annually.

Finally, the passage raises the issue that the use of genetically modified trees can prevent overexploitation of wild trees while the professor oppose to the writer’s expectation. She asserts that the advent of genetically modified species will threaten  the existence of wild forests. Because the introduced species are more aggressive, they will outcompete the local plants with source, such as sunlight and water, a phenomenon that might havoc the local ecosystem.

In conclusion, the point made in the lecture contracts with what is presented in the reading material.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?
The rules that the whole societies today expect to young people to follow and obey

Juniors today are constantly complaining that the seniority is imposing excessive rules and regulations on their lives, refraining them from achieving some ambitions and finding the right niches in their personal voyage of success. However, is that really the case? The information I have collected from my own experience leads me to believe that stringent rules are playing pivotal roles in juniors’ self-developments. My reasons are listed below.

First of all, along with the rapid the development of cyber technology, our society is embarking on an era of digital revolution. Electronic products are multiplying in both workplaces and households. Nevertheless, the sedentary lifestyle accompanied by the development is aggravating the healthy conditions of the juniors. Consequently, strict rules are indispensable to prevent young people’s unwholesome behaviors. As an example, it is not an uncommon scene is American, in which an overweight high-school girl lies on the living-room couch, staring at the TV screen all through the night and chewing TV dinner without even one-second pause. The detrimental effects engendered by physical inactivity, such as poor-eye condition and obesity, might devastate juniors’ whole lives providing without appropriate restrictions.

Furthermore, since the critical thinking ability has become the core of American education, juniors today tend to despise or even be hostile to the authority of the "adult world". They all desire to create their private code of conduct, any regulation that impedes their chase for liberty, which is usually excessive in fact, would be appraised to be “too strict”. According to a recent survey conducted by Boston University
, the astounding result is that the young children are inclined to regard the domestic and on-campus regulations as something unduly demanding or irritating even though they are actually essential and rational.

Finally, differing from the juniors few decades ago, adolescents today are in confronted of a plethora of lure and temptations, which may lead them to go astray unconsciously. Therefore, the adults, who are more self-disciplined and experienced, are obliged to guide the juniors toward a proper direction through several rules that might make them feel unfavorable or demanding. As an illustration, a child who is separated with his computer by his mother might feel unfair and unpleasant, however, this restriction of his behavior are likely to rescue him from a possible addiction to computer game.

Consequently, from what has been discussed above, I am firmly convinced that proper rules and regulations are the part and parcel of young people’s development and are supposed to be laid a considerable stored by.
