Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Nowadays students do not respect their teachers as much as in the past.

As is known to us all, teachers are one of the most important parts of our society, because they take the responsibility of passing the extant knowledge on, which is very important to the development of humanity. As far as I’m concerned, as time goes by, the statue of teachers is higher and higher and they gain more and more respect from the students.

To begin with, in the past, only rich people can afford the tuition, however, at present, most of impoverished students can get more or less financial aid to receive education. As is often the case, there are more students from poor family in the classroom. It seems that it is more probable for wealthy student to be haughty and presumptuous. So as the ratio of them in a classroom decreases, teachers will more likely to gain respect from the whole class. For example, the students in my class from rural areas is very polite to the teacher, nevertheless there are few students who has a luxurious family do even look down on the teachers.

In addition, there are tons of festivals for the teachers almost in every aspect of their work now, and the number of them is still increasing. And in the past, the teachers just had few anniversaries when students all over the world would retrospect what the teachers did and extol their accomplishments. This means that teachers are respected more than the past. For example, in the teachers’ day, we will give our presents as well as our best wishes to the beloved teachers. And in my school, there are also several other opportunities for us in an over place to express our thanks to the teacher who has ever taught us.

In conclusion, thanks to the ponderous work which teachers undertake and the gorgeous performance they show, more and more respect are granted to the teachers by students as the development of the modern civilization.

libertine不好意思,由于我水平有限,在你的作品上胡乱改了,请见谅!
我觉得第一个理由成立,后面的也从侧面反映社会和同学对老师的尊重增加,好像少了些老师直接的原因,比如教育方式的改变之类的。

thank you very much!

我觉得to begin with 放在那里蛮好的,结构更清晰啊~

我觉得第二段用你那个例子的话,和该段段首的论述就不一致了。

第三段是 in an overt place

thanks a lot, anyway~

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

If others (or employers) don't know your strength and accomplishment, you will never succeed in life.

As the development of the modern society, the competition between people is more and more fierce, everybody wants to succeed because of the preciousness of lives. As far as I’m concerned, whether others know your strength and accomplishment or not has no influence on your final success or failure.

To begin with, before a person becomes well-known, there are few people who know his strength and accomplishment. However, after he becomes famous, people will gradually learn about his talents. Take, for example, Yundi Li, a famous Chinese pianist. About a few years ago, most of us didn’t realize the existence of him. Nevertheless, since he won a gorgeous prize in an international competition, more and more people have begun to know his abilities and the time and energy that he spends in playing the piano. And he still succeeds in his life without intervention at last.

In addition, as is often the case, what matters more isn’t the strength and accomplishment in your past, but what your performance is at present. For example, I was assigned a project in the university because of the achievements I have got. As times went by, one of the members in our group made a great contribution to this project which showed that he was more excellent than anyone else, at least in this field. However, before he succeeded in doing all of these, none of us knew anything about him. Consequently, the possibility of success is equal to everyone no matter how outstanding you are in the past.

In conclusion, the number of people who know your strength and accomplishment has nothing to do with your success or failure. As long as you are willing to offer yourlabor, you are more likely to succeed in life.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

Teachers' performance should be evaluated by students rather than by other teachers.

As the development of modern society, teachers play a more and more important role in our daily lives, since they take the responsibility of passing down the knowledge from one generation to another, which is very essential. But there are some teachers who are not competent. As a result, many criterions to evaluate a teacher exist. As far as I am concerned, teachers’ performance should be evaluated by students rather than by other teachers.

To begin with, as is known to us all, in the class, who receive the teachers’ education are students, not other teachers. And the duty of teachers is teaching students instead of their colleagues. Consequently, students are the most appropriate people who can evaluate the ability of a teacher. For example, in the class without other teachers, a professor will teach more naturally without considering some certain aspects. However, if there exist other teachers, when teaching some knowledge, the professor takes something into consideration, such as whether what he says will hurt other teachers, is it proper to say these in front of other teachers and so on. Thus there are some differences between these two conditions.

In addition, there do exist some teachers who have bad characters and envy others’ talents, which in some sense will lead to biased evaluation towards their workmates. Nevertheless, pupils won’t do this kind of things, thus, it maybe objective for them to judge a teacher. For example, in the senior school in which I have ever studied, there was an outstanding teacher who taught me math. All of us liked him very much and thought highly of him. Nonetheless, there were two math teachers who hated him because of the talents he showed and often said bad words about him. And if my math teacher is evaluated by these teachers, it seems that he will never have an opportunity to make a good contribution to my senior school.

In conclusion, because of the two reasons above, I prefer the appraisals from student other than ones from other teachers for they are more dispassionate as well as more referable.

Do you agree or disagree with the following statement?

It's more enjoyable to have a job, and you work only three days a week with long hours rather than work five days a week with shorter hours.

As the development of modern society, we are under more and more pressure from almost every aspect in our lives. There is a growing number of work to attend to everyday. Some people like working only three days a week with long hours, while others like working five days with shorter hours. As far as I’m concerned, it’s more enjoyable to work for shorter hours every day.

To begin with,it is pretty easy for us to get tired and bored when handling the same thing for a long time. As a result, long working hours every day is more likely to reduce our interests towards the work which will make it less enjoyable. For example,as a student, before the final examination, we have to spend a lot of time and energy preparing for it. As is often the case, every day a lot of time will be utilized to review the subjects we have learnt, which always makes us exhausted. And this process will make us hate these subjects in some sense, no matter how much we like them before. Consequently, I don’t favor long working hours every day because it will be less enjoyable.

In addition,if you only work three days a week and take four days off, you will possibly forget most of the work you have done because of the gap in the time. And it is sure for you to feel less enjoyable, since it means a waste of time. For example, I have played the violin for about ten years, in order to improve my skills, I will spare about one hour to practice it every day. Sometimes there are too many chores for me to deal with, so I won’t play the violin that day. However, when practicing it the day after that day, it is more probable for me to lost some of the memory about the what I have practiced before, which is pretty annoying.

In conclusion,it will be more enjoyable to work for shorter hours every day, for the opposite may well make us tired, bored, annoyed and worried.

小改

As the development of modern society, teachers play a more and more important role in our daily lives, since they take the responsibility of passing down the knowledge from one generation to another, which is very essential. But there are some teachers who are not competent. As a result, many criterions to evaluate a teacher exist(exist是动词,可以写成many criterions are applied to assess teachers performance). (感觉前面这些说明有点奇怪)As far as I am concerned, teachers’ performance should be evaluated by students rather than by other teachers.
To begin with, as is known to us all, in the class, who receive the teachers’ education are students, not other teachers.(这句话没主语,students receive education other than teachers) And the duty of teachers is teaching students instead of their colleagues. (不懂句意)Consequently, students are the most appropriate people who can evaluate the ability of a teacherteachers). For example, in the class without other teachers, a professor will teach more naturally without considering some certain aspects. However, if there exist (exists)other teachers, when teaching some knowledge, the professor takes something into consideration, such as whether what he says will hurt other teachers,(such as 不可以接句子) is it (it is)proper to say these in front of other teachers and so on. Thus there are some differences between these two conditions.

In addition, there do exist some teachers who have bad characters and they envy others’(other teachers) talents, which in some sense will lead to biased evaluation towardstowarding) their workmates. Nevertheless, pupil won’t do this kind of things, thus, it maybe objective for them to judge a teacher. For example, in the senior school in which I have ever studied, there was an outstanding teacher who taught me math. All of us liked him very much and thought highly of him. Nonetheless, there were two math teachers who hated(envied)him because of the talents he showed and often said bad words about him. And if my math teacher is evaluated by these teachers, it seems that he will never have an opportunity to make a good contribution to my senior school.
In conclusion, because of the two reasons abovebecause the teo reasons of the above mentioned), I prefer the appraisals from studentstudents)other than ones(those) from other teachers for they are more dispassionate as well as more referable. (as well as一般连接verb or subject,改and 吧)
