你背景很不错的，经济统计数学背景都够的，如果申请top30的话，缺点就是没有好的会计professor强推，如果能帮你们学校会计老师做点RA什么的，就更好了。注意有个别学校只收GMAT。如果银子够，老师nice，建议top30申请10个，30-50申请10个，50之后选几个保底。

同意，申请top30的学校还是有希望的吧，主要看还有多少时间和机会在推荐上。我之前的背景可能没有你好，但是胆子比较大。如果诚心，可以好好计划准备一下。

去业界不如学界好吧。。。基本去不了学界才会去业界吧。。。你要想去业界，不如硕士去，5年时间都能升经理了。。

I got one year left for my master in vandy... what can I do to get a strong recommendation...(I know how important it is)
what kind of student the Acc professor want? I mean some of my classmates become the RA of finance professor cuz they need to run large numbers of data...But I don't think the Acc professor need this kind of student... Or what can I do to cultivate my sense in accounting research...
Most of my classmates and professor is econ background...They know nothing about Accounting... Plz give me some advise.. thanks a lot!

会计一样要run大量data，如果你会SAS，他会要你，还有个办法就是上accounting phd seminar

Owen has accounting professors so I guess that's where you could get started - talk to them and maybe every one of them. You could express your interests, seek for advice and work for them. Maybe, they could connect you with someone who actively works in accounting research after they know you well.    But do get well prepared before you go talk to them.
Besides, it does help if you work as RA for Fin or Econ professors. I think what matters most is whether you can think logically and generate your own ideas. When assisting with archival research, for example, you could see patterns yourself and try some tests if you want.

谢谢前辈～还是没有信心啊，今天跟系里面的博士说过想法后被深深的打击了，他们都说商科的博士招的学生很少，而且没有奖学金，并且需要业界的经验～请问是不是真的是这个样子的啊

没有会计PHD项目的学校伤不起啊。。。会计博士是不是很难申请啊。。。今天刚刚被系里面的博士们打击。。。说会计博士招收的人少，对数学要求不比经济PHD低，而且还没有奖学金～～求问是不是真的这个样子啊

不知道你期待的奖学金具体指什么，商学院都提供stipend的。。。这个不算么？有的通过RA/TA的形式给
招的人数大多是2-3人
数学要求是其中一项，不能差，但并非要多好才行
