DescriptionResearch assistant on micromagnetics simulations of nano-contact spin torque oscillator and magnetic tunnel junction Department of Physics, The University of Hong Kong We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our group in the Department of physics of The University of Hong Kong. Successful candidate will be appointed as a research assistant working on spin torque driven magnetization dynamics in nano-contact spin torque oscillators and magnetic tunnel junctions, from as soon as possible for initially one year with the possibility of renewal. Candidates should possess a master or doctoral degree with a strong background in Condensed Matter theory, Magnetism, Spintronics, and Material science or a related discipline. Experience in micromagnetics is an advantage. The research assistant may have the opportunity to visit our experimental collaborators in Sweden and USA for short-time visiting each year. Project Theme: The nano-contact spin torque oscillator—in which spin waves are excited in an extended ferromagnetic thin film— is one commonly investigated spin torque oscillator geometry and exhibits intriguing spin- torque-driven spin-wave dynamics. These rich spin wave dynamics will be very useful for both fundamental scientific research and practical applications. Possible applications includes spin wave antenna, vehical radar communications, telecommunications and non-volatile memory etc. To apply Interested candidates should email Dr. Yan ZHOU (yanzhou@hku.hk) with CVs. Review of applications will start immediately until the post is filled. |
