考虑下逻辑主语吧,如果选Emade的逻辑主语自然成了hormones,荷尔蒙使得细胞怎么样怎么样不是很符合逻辑。

这句话的意思是说,细胞(1)要么分泌出荷尔蒙,在这种情况下,他们是endocrine;(2)要么导电,这种情况下,他们是神经元。大概是这个意思。《好生物啊》
E的话,cells either secreted hormones, which made them 前面半句正确,which后面是个定语从句,根据曼哈顿的提法,which引导的定语从句是修饰离他最近的名词(hormones),而荷尔蒙只是一种物质,不是细胞,这个定语从句修饰的就肯定不对。而them或者they这个概念,应该是指向cells。

我觉得吧,这题纯粹考平行吧。后面or conducted electrical impulses, in which 就暗示前面就是D了。E在逻辑上的确说不通。
