想请教坛子里的牛牛们，这个essay question的重点应该在哪里？

跟以前的"setback or failure" type question相比，EX: describe a setback, disappointment, or occasion of failure that you have experienced. How did you manage the situation, and  what did you learn from it?

有多大的区别？

看了一些以前的范文，个人觉得以前的"setback or failure"type更注重遇到挫折或者失败后，我们如何去化解，改变，提高；但是这个新题似乎是想要我们把重点放在挫折和失败上。所以，我的想法是something i wish i had done better+my further reflection and what i learned from it AFTERWARDS. 这样的话，"how did you manage the situation" 是不是不在essay scope里面呢？OR，the school is still expecting your remedy movements on site？

我觉得不一定没做好的事情，而是过去一件事，如果你回到那个时候，会怎样提高它，有可能是从不好到好，也有可能是好到更好。我觉得非黑即白的思路有点常规，看能不能想想过去做一件事觉得什么更重要，而现在看来有些其他的东西更加重要，value不同的东西，体现了你的成长。个人意见，没写过。LZ申哈佛啊，加油！

Well, in a setback or failure question, actually I think that the main focus of the text should be on the setback or failure itself. We want to SEE you in action when things are going poorly. How you make your decisions. How honest you are about your failings, and what you do in times of crisis. Afterwards there is definitely a tendency to finish off with a “happy ending” about what you learned and how you fixed things. And this is fine. And can even work very well. But I don’t think you should make it the FOCUS of the essay. It’s just a nice way to end on a  positive note.
